The climate change
Thousands of independent scientific experts from all over the world conclude that there is a more than 95% probability that human activities over the past 50 years warmed our planet. This is a global problem that affects all of us – men, women, adults, and children. This is something we are well aware of, however, it seems that not much is being done to reverse this detrimental change.
How climate change is affecting our lives?
The ways in which this global problem affects us are many. However, there are some consequences that are of vital importance to us.
- The ice caps are melting, and sea levels are rising – according to scientific research, the sea levels can rise to 200 feet, and more in the future.
- The air we breathe every day is dangerously polluted – according to scientific research, nearly 9500 people die each year in London because of air pollution.
- The plants and animals on our planet are already moving their range northward or to higher altitudes as a result of warming temperatures.
What can be done to stop the clime change?
Many actions are being taken in order to stop, or at least reduce the enormous effects of climate change. However, not only governments, or private organizations can contribute towards this. Each and every one of us can. We can start walking, and cycling instead of driving, start eating less meat, use only renewable energy, and support companies that care about climate change.
Plastic pollution
Plastic pollution is another global problem that we all can easily stop. Between 1.1 and 8.8 million tonnes of plastic waste enters the oceans every year. We at Rico Kids recognise this issue, and would like to contribute, and stop using plastic. That’s why at our parties you will not see sweets, or toys wrapped in plastic to be handed out to the kids. We know how important it is for children to be rewarded. That is why we give out prizes at our party games. However, all of the prizes are made out of wood and are eco-friendly. We are proud to announce that we do everything we can to minimize and even stop using any plastic products & packaging on a daily basis in our business.
The climate change and Rico Kids
At Rico Kids, we recognise the enormous need for global change in order to save our planet. But we also realise that this isn’t feasible unless each, and every one of us gets involved! That’s why we have decided to be eco-friendly children’s entertainers in London. What does eco-friendly mean? It means that we do our best to protect the environment by reducing the plastic waste at our parties – we don’t give out sweets in plastic packaging, nor we give out plastic toys at our parties. We also use mainly hybrid vehicles, or public transport to get to your chosen destination! This way we reduce the emissions in London’s air and contribute to a cleaner environment.
